This “cliff hanger” boat lift was installed for a client on a island in Lake Muskoka in mid July.
A custom base is used to support the tower under water and the cliff attachment stabilize and support a small platform to access the boat. It sits on a rock face that is 14 degrees from vertical.
The boat is 25 feet and weighs over 5000 pounds and the “cliff hanger” boat lift is electrical. It operates with solar cells that runs a 12 Volt electric motor through a deep cell battery.
Before the “cliff hanger” boat lift the vessel was docked at the pier in the background which created a concern for the constant wakes and wave action.
What is a “cliff hanger” boat lift?
A Viking Boat Lift “cliff hanger” is always a custom build. The proper measurements needs to be done before manufacturing the parts.
Some of our “cliff hanger” boat lifts are installed with a custom base like the one above. Others are solely attached to the cliff and as far as we know we are the only brand that offers this
This year is already called the “cliff hanger” year at Viking Boat Lift because of many “cliff hangers”. So expect more pictures from other “cliff hanger” boat lift installs.
